Sauntering beside the lake In my early life holding my dads fist Trying to catch a glimpse of that chase There is something of me in there Nothing that could be a flurry Just a bare reflection of me - pure & serene Few years beyond my teens there was me in the mirror A reflection of what I now be Everything that I hid from the world For I wanted to be someone they love This was not me in totality but What I thought the world would love of me Now as I lay in my last years And each time as my eye lids shutter A flash of the world acquainted Glimpses of the conscious life lived Reflecting the not so pertinent moments All I see there is nothing I would have wished Something that is true and me But what I never was and came into being Reflection of a life, changed with time A life simple and calm, to a life for the world Not sure which one is better lived Yet certain it is a REFLECTION of a belief of life, mine, now passe.................
